Vahid Jalalzadeh, the head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said in a TV program on Sunday that only the representative of the Zionist regime in the United Nations left while Raisi was addressing the UN General Assembly and no other official left their chair.
Jalalzadeh who accompanied President Raisi on his visit to New York this week said that French President Emanuel Macron delivered the US’ message to Raisi during their meeting on the sidelines of the UNGA.
However, according to Jalalzadeh, Raisi answered that Iran had been once hurt by the JCPOA and that was enough.
Macron raised human rights issues in Iran and Raisi mentioned the yellow vest movement in return, the lawmaker said.
The US sent another message via the Swiss president calling for a bilateral meeting, Jalalzadeh said, adding that Raisi responded by asking if Iran had profited from previous bilateral meetings.
Jalalzadeh also touched on the protests in Iran in response to the death of a 22-year-old woman named Mahsa Amini after arrest, saying that the protests could continue peacefully until an outcome was achieved.
